We have had the pleasure and the privilege of working with gifted visionaries all over the world whose work has demonstrated the power that ideas can have in changing lives and even in changing history. These visionaries are thought leaders, activists, and scientists, who are working on “science for humanity”—projects that help us understand ourselves and our place in the world. Their messages are not only wanted, but needed by our culture.
Don’t just take our word for it though, take a look at some of the amazing things our authors have accomplished so far.
The Book of Joy - Archbishop Desmond Tutu & His Holiness the Dalai Lama with Doug Abrams
Doug recalls, “I have had the privilege of working with Archbishop Tutu (affectionately known as “Arch”) for over a decade on his books for adults and children. He has become my mentor, my friend, and my rabbi. At the Archbishop’s 80th birthday in Cape Town, the chairman of the Dalai Lama Foundation suggested that Arch and His Holiness should do a book together. We asked Arch if he wanted to do a book with His Holiness and he replied “I’d do anything with that man.”
The Book of Joy was the book of the fair at the 2015 London Book Fair, and is being published in 20+ countries. A documentary film on Joy and the week in Dharamsala is in development.
Doug and his team are really quite extraordinary. They are wonderfully creative and gifted, and working with them is a great joy. But it is their mission to create life-changing and world-changing books that I admire most. I feel blessed to have had Doug help me with my books for over a decade and I trust his judgment immensely. He has become a dear friend. One could not find a better supporter and advocate. So I don’t hold it against him that he is so tall.

I cannot say enough about Doug Abrams, agent extraordinaire, who persuaded me to take on this project. Without his invaluable guidance, encouragement, and friendship, this book would not have been possible

Into the Magic Shop
- James R. Doty, MD
Doug recalls, “I first heard Jim tell his amazing story of walking in to a magic shop as a boy and knew that it would resonate with my father and millions of other people. He worked with our enormously talented editorial director, Lara Love, to fashion a book that is both a deeply gripping story and an exploration of the science behind how we can get whatever our heart desires.”
Into the Magic Shop recently became a New York Times Best Seller, and was also featured as Best Book of the Month on Amazon. An episodic television show based on the book is in development.
Idea Architects not only represents authors as a literary agency but offers a full suite of services that give authors resources that allow them to maximize the success of their work. Working with Doug Abrams at Idea Architect has been a wonderful joy. He is thoughtful, intelligent and really has a way of seeing the potential of a project.
